Before SUAS 2025, AAV visited the U.S. Naval Academy to learn from its aerial systems work, testing facilities and naval engineering environment.

Visit to the U.S. Naval Academy

Before the start of SUAS 2025, AAV used a free day in Maryland to visit the U.S. Naval Academy.

The team learned more about USNA’s SUAS team and toured several technical spaces, including drone simulation and testing facilities, a copter testing area, workshops and towing tanks. The visit ended with a tour of the campus and a meal hosted by USNA professors.

For AAV, the visit was both technical and cultural. It showed members how another institution trains students around aviation, naval systems, discipline and mission-oriented engineering.
