Privacy Policy.

How Archimedes Autonomous Vehicles (AAV) handles personal data in connection with this website, in accordance with Singapore’s Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (PDPA).

Effective 1 July 2026 · Operates alongside NTU’s Personal Data Protection Policy

Archimedes Autonomous Vehicles (AAV) is a student team at Nanyang Technological University (NTU). This policy explains how we handle personal data in connection with this website. As a student team under NTU, we also operate under NTU’s Personal Data Protection Policy, which applies where this policy is silent.

When you visit this website

  • If you are only browsing, we do not collect data that identifies you individually. We use Vercel Web Analytics, which is cookieless and aggregated, so your visit is counted without identifying you.
  • Our visitor counter stores only a running total of visits and holds no personal data.
  • We do not set advertising or tracking cookies. The video on our home page is embedded through YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie), and YouTube may set its own cookies only if you choose to play it.
  • Browsing the site does not require you to give us any personal data. We only receive personal data if you choose to send it, through the enquiry form on our Contact page.

When you interact with us

  • If you send us an enquiry through the form on our Contact page, we collect the name, email address, category, subject and message you provide, and your phone number if you choose to give one. We use these details to respond to and administer your request.
  • Enquiries are stored in our Supabase database, which is not readable from the public website, and are handled by the AAV team. If you email us instead, we collect whatever you choose to put in that email, for the same purpose.
  • Our Team page shows members' names, photographs, roles, academic details, and any LinkedIn or GitHub links they provide. This is published with each member's consent, and members may ask us to update or remove their information at any time.
  • We may display photographs and video recordings from AAV events and activities for publicity and in our publications, in line with participant consent.

How we use, share and protect your data

  • We use personal data to operate this website, run recruitment and membership, communicate with you, share our work publicly, and fulfil deliverables to our sponsors.
  • We may share personal data with NTU, and where relevant with our sponsors and the service providers that run this site: Supabase (database and media hosting), Vercel (website hosting and anonymous analytics), and YouTube (video hosting). We do not sell personal data.
  • Some of these providers process data outside Singapore. Where personal data is transferred overseas, we take reasonable steps to ensure a standard of protection comparable to that required under the PDPA.
  • We apply reasonable security measures, though no transmission over the internet is completely secure, and any transmission is at your own risk.
  • We keep personal data only for as long as necessary for these purposes or as required by law, then take reasonable steps to dispose of it.

Your rights, and other websites

  • Under the PDPA, you may request access to or correction of your personal data, or withdraw your consent, and we will respond within a reasonable time. Withdrawing consent may affect your membership or our ability to respond to you.
  • This site links to external websites, including social media, sponsors, and YouTube. Their privacy practices are their own, and we encourage you to review their privacy notices.
